Tess Jacoby

DIRECTOR | NATIONAL STRATEGY

Tess joins RUE as Director | National Strategy.  She brings a highly sophisticated retail palette via upwards of fifteen years of avid real estate experience.  Tess began her career in New York City where she worked with RKF which, at the time, was one of the regarded urban-core specialty brokerages in the country.  While there, she worked under the mentorship of Karen Bellantoni who provided Tess with incredible foundations for brand awareness, impeccable national relationships, and the ability to curate and implement national strategy rooted in experience.  After seven years of dedicated work with RKF, Tess then moved to JLL as Vice President of Retail Leasing where she expanded upon her national expertise but, in tandem, heavily emphasized her business in the greater New York City area.  As an example, she worked alongside John Auber in Bluemercury’s localized deployment in addition to her highly successful work with retailers such as PacSun, Microsoft, Bang & Olufsen, Framebridge, Avocado Mattress, Ipic, Brooklinen, and many more.  Tess’s experience can be extended to landlord work as well, where she could leverage her relationships and experience to curate on behalf of her partners on the project leasing side.  As an example, Tess consulted for Howard Hughes during the redevelopment of the 365K SF South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan. Other reputable relationships include SL Green, Nuveen, The Moinian Group, TF Cornerstone, and Meringoff Properties, Inc.

Thereafter JLL, Tess relocated to Chicago and work in-house with Leap Retail as Senior Network Expansion Manager.  While there, Tess expanded upon her pre-existing and nationally knowledgeable skillset and combined that with a highly data-driven approach which helped create a highly acute ability to understand varying psychographic profiles of a wide variety of DTC brands.  Once those brands were profiled accordingly, she leveraged that understanding to create a customized real estate strategy.  While serving an in-house role, Tess was able to hone her aptitudes as related to strategy and deal negotiation but also gained experience as a principal which is a tremendous attribute and vantage point to possess as she assists RUE with national rollouts for a wide variety of concepts.

Tess is a graduate of The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Business.  In her free time, Tess enjoys expanding upon her travel and challenging herself in skiing, pickleball, and pretty much any other outdoor activity.
